Ive just had a look at their cataloge, and i fancy going a trip out to their shop, but its quite a few miles away from where i live, so is it worth a trip out. { robinsons has gone rubbish}

I don't go very often, but it's a good place to rummage around. R&R is the other side of York - I have been known to do both in a day, which is good fun.

No, very disappointing. Visited as my daughter is at Uni in York and was very let down. The amount of stuff they have in their catalogue is not reflected on the shop floor.

They have a advert on TV at the moment with a discount code on it for 15% off. I think it is either rideawaytv or rideaway15

Might be worth a google to find it out

We tend to go once a year and yes I think the shop is a bit of a let down after you've seen the catalog, BUT, they have just been taken over by Pets at Home, so I'm guessing the whole thing might be made over quite soon.

R&R is good

I went in the last month or so and they are doing a lot of work on the store since being taken over by Pets At Home so it was all a bit of a building site. That should all be finished now and I would hope that they have no rearranged the stock.

I have always found they do have most things that are in the catalogue but, if you're only going for one thing and it's a long drive then you'd be best ordering on line as their delivery has always been very good.

If you look online it usually tells you how many are in stock which can be an indication of its it's in the shop too. I have found the shop to be a bit disorganised but carrying most things. Some of the staff are rude but the odd one (if you get the right girl in the right day) is very helpful. The free coffee is appreciated as daughter tends to browse for ages when we go there.

I dont like Rideaway (although it might be better now its been taken over)
Ive been a couple of times, to give it a chance. But I was let down by their stock.
last time I went, I had a list of things I needed to buy. I bought nothing and drove from there to R and R where I got everything I needed :)

I like rideaway whatevers not on the shop floor you can ask someone and they will happily go and get it from the warehouse for you never been an issue!

My daughter & I went a few weeks ago -really went for a nosy to see how it had changed

The layout is probably better now as they taken out all internal walls & its mainly 1 large space.

Stock wise - was a bit hit & miss - obviously new stock arriving but not everything was priced.

Staff - not impressed we went to the till with a basket of few bits & pieces and were asked if we had found everything on our visit. We asked if an offer was still on for 10% of riding hats - 1st girl asked another member of staff - yes it was so said we would pay for the basket then daughter wanted to buy a hat.
While I went to put bag in car daughter was sorted out with a new hat & within 5 minutes we went back to the till. 2nd girl put this through the till - yet again we were asked if we had found everything we wanted - no recognition that she had spoken to us 5 minutes ago. She then scanned the hat & no discount came up so we queried it and she said we needed a voucher - hadnt mentioned that before. So I said that I had received an email telling me about offer. After a few minutes she decided she could give discount but very off hand with us.

I wont be rushing back

On way home we called at Robinsons/BATA in Malton and had a totally different experience with friendly staff, full shelves & items priced!!

Went last year just before mini me graduated from York Uni as was about to acquire new horse. Found everything I wanted plus lots more :o

Sent OH out to the car when I went to the till so he wouldn't start divorce proceedings.

Found it great plus all staff lovely - obviously lots of changes happened since my visit.

I have found the some of the staff to be rude since the original owner sold up and extremely difficult with queries. Shame as the service used to be good.
