I want to order some dog boots from Germany but cannot make head nor tail of the website, my O level German is insufficient. :-)

email them in English, apologise for having insufficient German skills and just ask. if its Paypal they can send you an invoice, otherwise I expect their English would be good enough to guide you. I've ordered from a few German and Dutch sites this way when I am unsure.

I have tried that, MOC, but no reply. :-) I even managed hello, please and thank you in German but it appears it was not enough. :-)
I was hoping to avoid google translate as we use it sometimes to translate from French and the results are generally hilarious!

I have A Level German decades ago. I might manage if you don't get a better offer. If you tell me the site, I'll tell you if I can read it OK. Are you sure they take overseas orders?

Ycbm, that was what I wanted to ask them. However, the cirisis may be over, my mum has tracked a supplier in Ireland of recommended boots so I will phone them tomorrow. My Irish isn't fantastic either, but if they speak slowly enough I should get it. :-)
Thank you for the offer. I will shout if I need you.

Hubby is German and I regularly use him to order German horsey stuff! He's got quite good at the meaningful translations and not just straight translations lol. Like Vielseitigkeit - versatility, he just tells me it's gp lol. Gives a shout if you need help :)

Wow - thank you all. I think the Irish lady seerms just the person - £100 for a set of leather boots - ouch, but my wellies cost more and Tawny runs a lot further than I do.

Late to the party. I only know dog terms lol but can sort of order things but see you're sorted. Most Germans speak excellent English and I always send an email if I have any questions.

£100? and how much do you earn picking-up for a day? Do the makers offer any sort of warranty, and the last question …. does Mr. Clodagh have a view on booties? :)

The above is all a bit tongue in cheek, but the simple fact is that no dog's pads EVER hardened whilst they were protected. Better to do roadwork and have them toughen up through use.

(I'm still staggered at £25 per boot!).

Alec.

Alec, when you think what Mr Clodagh spends on shooting over the year he is hardly in a position to object to me buying boots. He has actually offered to pay for them. Picking up is my hobby, I keep back my holidays from work so I can go, I am now working on 4 shoots and I only have one dog. So,yes they are worth it. A set of shoes when I hunted... £70 and that was every 4/5 weeks.

Thank you Northern, there are loads of you around it seems!

CC- love the Irish accent but one has to pay attention to understand what you lot are saying!!
