yeh they messed it all up.he was 6 days late and 8lb10,they said he was to big for me,they damaged his frenic nerve also leaving his left arm dead but after physio for a year he was able to move it,now its fine and you would never have known
I was actually thinking that when I saw him - the yard I used to be at bred TBs, when one was due the YO would sleep in the stable with them on a bale of hay - you could almost guarantee that the mare would foal when the YO popped out to the loo!! This is the first foal Kachina has had in the UK, she came from a german stud so they might've handled it differently. I thought the whole idea of having CCTV for mares in foal was so that you didn't disturb them!
Thanks to whoever texted me - yep my phone did go mad - always does when one of them goes into labour!
She is a tease - she's bagged up -slack ladybits, looks good to go (well she is 9 days over now) and defintely looked to be in labour.
I'm on my own here with the kids so frantically rung round trying to get hold of Chris who was out in town - no answer, so inthe end dragged his dad out of bed...
That was who came in - I meant for him to sit up here withkids so I could go down, but being afarmer he wanted to be involved, although I did have to ring him and ask him to leave her alone!
Don't think he stopped the labour - once they start properly I don't think they can stop - but she was definitely showing all the signs - and now appears to be chowing down quite happily! Little madam!
I did keep flicking back to the 4 horse view as I thought it'd be ironic if while I had the cam on Kachina up, that Jem or Luci might be quietly foaling in the corner off cam!
I just found a Rollestone thread froma couple of nights ago - when Luci made me thinkshe was having her baby - and it's hilarious to read you all discussing the same freaky white org thing that has been scaring me all week!! Like some kind of glowing alien crawling accross the screen!
