Supposed to be picking one up later today but although thr main roads are clear our lane is pure ice, only about 500 yards long but wondered if anyone else has been out and about in their lorry since the snow???? Not sure whether to put it off another day

I was supposed to be taking daughter to dressage lesson yesterday. Cancelled as yard and drive way (slopes down to main road) were just solid ice. I just wasn't prepared to risk the horse. Would have taken lorry out empty but not with horse in.

I have but our snow and ice had all gone by yesterday morning - only went half a mile to local arena after work yesterday

I personally wouldn't take it out in snow / ice

Was due to go for my lesson today, been really looking forward to it but I've just cancelled, the roads are ok round us its just the track to the yard and actually getting it out of the yard and back home again. Its like an ice rink. I'm disappointed but its just not worth risking the lorry or my horse.

If its only the lane, and its only 500 yards- could you not grit it?

I work on a farm, we have huge lorries (8 wheel tippers), and we've just gritted the lot. No problems now.

Yup - had mine out last night to take daughter's horse to dressage lesson, and again this morning to take it (lorry not horse) for a service. Our yard is all black ice but the roads were fine - however we didn't get very much snow to start with!
