Anyone think this advert a bit odd!???!

I agree.
If the mare is as good as they say in other respects, a little bit of jogging (easily cured IMO) is not that terrible.
Unless it secretly means that she heads for home faster than a Grand National winner?!

Are you going to see her?

Nooooooooooooooo! Just came across it as i may have a budget of £2000 to buy something but it was there in case my mare didn't recover from her injury but now she's going well so far i probably won't get a second horse as it'll cause more financial heartache!! plus am getting a horsebox next week (hopefully) so i would be being greedy, horsebox plus a second horse!
Adverts like these really annoy me as there are people out there like myself that would turn this mare round in no time IF it is AS described,i think this women shouldn't have a horse, their not robots after all and don't always do as they are told-think she's looking for something that doesn't exist!

A young girls mother said to me once "should we sell him" (a nice new forest pony they had bought only a few months earlier as a 6 year old) Why, I said, because he wont go past the donkeys that live at the end of the lane.

No I said, we will just work through it he will get used to them.

I can't believe people would sell for something like this!!

there's something that doesn't ring true here! How many of our horses jog from time to time - if you buy a TB then you have to expect that they will do it occasionally....!!!!

I think there may be more to this ad than meets the eye

if she loved her so much she would work on it wouldn't she? its like saying 'she cant do turn on the forehand and it really annoys me' what a load of s**t! to me she sounds inexperienced with no horsey friends who can help her out a little bit xxx

I smell the fragrant aroma of bullsh*t!
You don't sell a horse becuase it jogs

...and if you haven't got time to sort out 'problems' then why have a horse in the first place?.....

got to be more to it surely? Could anyone really be that stupid? Sadly I fear they can! I feel sorry for the poor horse. Odd to put that in an advert

i think she is lying IMO.

also - this may perhaps just be my opinion but....

the bit looks too low
the noseband looks to low
the browband looks to high/tight [but may just be a hairy pony]

"but she only does when hacking alone, its not frightening in anyway but very annoying for me. its a real shame as in every other way she is perfect for me. "

i'm sorry but if she is looking for the "perfect" horse she will be a loooong time finding him/her.

my pony jogs and has thousands of bad habits. do i sell her because of it?! no. i love her in spite of it! its what makes her HER. dear god she would be bloody dull if she did everything perfectly, she would be a robot not a horse!

i have a lot of bad habits and probably pi$$ my pony of no end but you work at it together.

you have a problem you work through it dont just give up when things get a bit rough atleast TRY to work it out not just dismiss them as not good enough.

If this is the way this womans attitude is towards horses i imagine other areas of her life have been a huge let down also. as sadly life, horses and pretty much everything will never be perfect

I agree with everyone here - why get a horse if you point black wont work through its problems?

There's aperson on another forum who is getting rid of her horse because it apparently headshakes (even though she was told about it in the first place) and wont go on a trailer (but will go on a lorry..) she's only had it 5 mins and wont give the fellow a chance...such a shame horses are seen as a disposable commoditiy...

Depends on how busy the roads are where she lives, personally I don't like hacking out [having owned a mare who 'bolted' every time I took her out] so I wouldn't object to buying a mare like the one in that ad - as long as jogging on the road is all that's wrong with her! It's also possible the owner has back problems...

I think judging by the state of the horses tack, like was mentioned, noseband too low, bit too low, browband too high/tight, the owner is inexperienced.

you know what, i get the feeling she bought the horse but doesnt have the experience, guts etc to ride it, I also think those photo's were probably one of only a few times she has ridden the horse looking at the state of how she has put he bridle together, and on.

Wouldnt surprise me if its a novice who fancied horse ownership, then realsied it was a bit scary to have your own, has ridden it a few times and decided that even a little jogging is too much to handle.

Of course I could be wrong and the horse could just be a complete lunatic and she is lying, who knows!

I would like to know how long she has had the horse because her ad, mentioning the clean legs, no splints etc, sounds like perhaps it was what was told to her by whoever she bought the horse from.
If its jumping now why no jumping shots?

Only head shots and one 'ridden' pic of her standing?
