as title really. How do you find them?id be using it to tow 1 horse mostly but sometimes 2. But also for the family, kids car seats, going shopping etc
A friend said she felt very sick in her jeep Cherokee as did her children, this worries me abit, did anyone else find this?and is this the same with the grand Cherokee?

My dad used to tow our horse in a 2010 Jeep Grand Cheroke we never had a problem, I don't own a trailer so he didn't tow very often but did the job for us when we needed to :)

I love my grand cherokee. Very smooth and plenty of power for towing. The only downside is you have to remind yourself that the trailer is there! No complaints of sickness! In fact I tend to put my passengers to sleep :p

I have a BMW X3 before, it was utterly useless.

We had the 4tr Cherokee and then the 2.7Crd Grand Cherokee. Great towing vehicles. Our Grand is an Auto and is super smooth and very powerful, we pull 2 big horses without any issues at all and fuel consumption remains in the mid twenties.

I've got a 2.5l 2003 Cherokee Sport which I use to tow one horse in a Richardson trailer. It pulls like a train but is a little agricultural in that the gear change isn't that slick or smooth (it could do with a new clutch I think!). Never had any trouble with sickness, it's not that roly poly in corners and handles pretty well. I've towed two horses with it as well and it appeared to have no trouble. They have quite a good towing capacity without being overly big - probably down to increased weight due to being made of pig iron!

Thankyou so helpful. So the general opinion is grand Cherokee is pretty good?i think it was the rolling on a corner that friend had trouble with the jeep with. I won't be towing it will be my husband who is older and can drive an arctic with work etc

I used to have a 2003 Jeep Cherokee (auto) and it towed like a dream, I pulled two large horses with it and it coped no problem. It has a 3.5t towing capacity. Never had any problem with it rolling round corners, it was actually a nice drive for a 4x4! Sadly the cylinder head on mine cracked so I had to sell it for scrap, but I do miss it a lot!

Let him have a nice rest in the passenger seat whilst you tow it on L plates

I have a Grand Cherokee ZJ. Must say, it wasn't my first choice but I wanted something up to weight that wasn't completely rotten, for less than £1k.

Found one for £275, spent £400 to get it on the road and it's brilliant! Just failed it's MOT on a small area of rust, caused by a missing mudflap allowing mud and water into the sill and that is all.

I have had it just over a year and towed my Beaufort with two big horses up and not long after I bought it, we did a 1000+ mile round trip to pick up a car. Empty car trailer up, loaded back. Didn't put a wheel wrong!

Only thing I have found, is that some parts are hard to get except from the stealer. That might be different for later vehicles though.

I tow and Ifor Williams 505 with one DWB mare in it with an automatic Jeep Cherokee 2.8CRD. I love it despite the problems with Jeep recently. A couple of words of caution though - if you buy a secondhand Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, please please check that it has had the recall work regarding the towbar done. Whilst many people/car salesmen are honest I know of at least three cars that were being passed off as legal without having the recall done. You can check on the VOSA recall site if you have the information regarding date of construction and the VIN number. If you are unsure you can check with your local dealership, HOWEVER, you may also be given misinformation from them. The dealerships should provide a free vehicle towbar check, if it is deemed as unsafe you should be advised that they will supply and fit a new replacement towbar Free of Charge. The towbar will have to be ordered so will not be done the same day. If you want further info please feel free to PM me.

Used to many years ago. No problems with sickness but felt unstable towing at times but this was probably 15 years ago. We wouldn't have another after the problems we had (not related to towing).

Tow one warmblood in a rice richardson trailer with a 2.5 Cherokee. Tows like a dream. I also use it for drive into city centre most days. Passed the recall 're towbars without requiring any work

Yes I do and its great. I have an automatic and it makes towing very easy, pulls two without noticing (its max tow eight is 3.5tonne tho so you would hope so!). I am thinking of selling it tho as don't need such a big vehicle anymore.
