anyone tow with a nissan terrano?

I had a Ford Maverick LWB which is the same as the Terrano with the Ford badge. It towed brilliantly and effortlessly. Was more economical to drive than my 2L petrol car including when towing and it never let me down once in the time I had it. I would definitely buy another one.

My friend tows with her Nissan Terrano and loves it.
Only thing don't get Nissan Terrano automatic without checking tow weights. We nearly did on the word of a salesman. It was a Terrano 3 litre auto, salesman said would tow loaded 510 no bother luckily OH checked and for that reg(can't remember what) it would only tow 2000kg not the at least 2800 we would settle for.

I own a SWB ford maverick, and I consider myself a very experienced driver ,particularly towing. However towing anything behind my maverick scares me to death. The back end of the car" breaks away" incredibly easily. With overrun brakes pushing:eek::eek::eek:

Mike....have you had the bushes on the rear axle replaced recently? I'm presuming your car is several years old as the Maverick of recent years isn't anything like the Terrano and I believe is now made by Mazda.

Our old 1995 plate Maverick had a similar problem. Wasn't picked up on an MOT as the examiner doesn't have to get anything in to wiggle for play in the bushes/doughnuts. I mentioned the problem to the mechanic who then did a rigorous check and declared it unsafe to drive, just two days after the MOT!!

£300 and some new bushes later it towed like a dream again.

We currently have a 55 plate LWB Terrano. I adore it. Tows like a dream and is a nice "car" to drive. Doesn't drive tank like as some of the more meaty 4x4's can.

It is fabulous offroad too....we often have to trudge ours up and down our fields when checking the cows or moving some about.

I tow two in my Richardson trailer without any hitch at all. Can barely tell I'm towing sometimes.

I've got the Terrano II 2.7 and its fab. My dad tows with it (I need to do my towing license) and he prefers it to the landy :) Its not massively economical on fuel - I can only afford one car so its my main one but it isnt too bad. It tows the old style Rice trailer (think tank lol) with my horse in it with no probs :)

I got a V reg 2.7 diesel manual with 70 odd thousand on the clock, I find the fuel consumption really good, particularly as I drive it like a car, tows my Double Rachardson fine with good handling.:)

I have a ford maverick (which is really a nissan terrano) it's an R reg and I've had it for about 9 years, it's brilliant for towing and I've now even used it to tow the harrow and roller around the field. Nice comfortable car to drive and just lovely to tow with. Oh and better still it get through the mot each year with minimal fuss.
