A friend of mine used to tow with one. He had no problem towing, the car has a Mercedes engine so has sufficient power. He eventually sold it, I think because of repair bills being high.

Thanks for that , We have just bought one for towing purposes and lifting hay, the usual horsey errands .
Exactly what hubbie said, because of its engine (merc) its a good engine and plenty of pulling power .
Hubbie is a mechanic and will do all the work to it himself if it needs doing .

Dont have one of my own but before i had my own tow car used to borrow a friends sometimes.
Was a bit plasticy (is that even a word?) inside, drove a bit like a barge (But hey most 4x4's do!!) but all in all was comfortable and i did a few thousand towing miles with one and found it to be a great tow car. Friend had theres for 6 or 7 years and really liked it as a car it was very reliable, the only bad thing seems to be the resale value ( which isnt going to be a problem if you bought it for a good price!)

Yes it was very cheap
, no airs or graces about it as its only going to be for towing and chucking hay into it .
I'm not too worried about the inside of it or how it looks , as long as its reliable and tows well, Well then thats good enough for me

I had one, it was great for towing, but we eventually got rid as the parts were nearly impossible to get (somewhere on a ship from Korea and might arrive in the next 3 months -whistle!)and we ended up adapting Mercedes parts. Engine was great, but it was the non-Mercedes bits that seemed to cause the problems. I think we were very unlucky!
