Thinking about trying it for my fizzy fatty. Just bit reluctant to up the calories at this time of year but spring seems like it will never come and poor horse beginning to feel a bit lacking in energy (ridden 6x a week, week, competing regularly in a bit of everything, currently on ad lib hay and a token amount of fast fibre with vit&min supplement).
She is not overweight but carrying a bit more condition than I'd like for this time of year. Also much muddier than I'd like for this time of year!
All suggestions welcome!

I just add a bit of NAFs EnerG supplement to my horses feed when he feels a bit like hes lacking energy, does the trick for me! No calorie increase just a bit more oooomph for them. Spring will be here soon :)

Thanks, might try that. A bit at a loss to be honest, I have never known her to lack energy! Too much food and both her belly and her brain explode!

Would definitely recommend phoning some feed companies and getting some advice as they know their feeds better than anyone! I know I fed Ride & Relax and had a horse that was crackers but on Calm & Condition he was managable but I was feeding for calories not for a bit more energy.

I have fed it since Oct. I have a forward going mare that works quite hard and is a good doer. I wanted her to be fed appropriately to her level of work, but not whizz her up or make her fat!! I also wanted to cut our Alfalfa and Molasses to see if it would make her more rideable (she has a tendancy to throw a strop at times! ;) )

I've got on really well with it. I also had the Allen and Page Rep out 2 weeks ago who said she was in perfect condition and completely agreed with her feeding regime :) :) :)

Thanks for the replies. Hmmm I think I will hold fire and maybe just up the fast fibre until the grass comes through, then if she still needs something more I will try the c&c. Good idea calling feed companies too. Galaxy, my mare sounds very much like yours! How gratifying that she is doing so well!
