Anyone tried equine science calmer bars?

I posted this yeasterday but had no response, so i thought i'd try again this morning. has anyone used them - do they work? The website promises great things - but dont they all??
They are VERY pricey - but if anyone has had good results, then i am willing to pay however much for a calm competition horse!!! Please pm me if you'd rather...
i have done a 'search' for this calmer but other than the website cant find any 'neutral' testimonials....

Never heard of them, please enlighten me as I have tried every calmer under the sun and have started admitting defeat!!
 
hi mine have arrived and he has been on them for several days, i wont say they particulary quieten horses down like some calmers are supposed to.
My horse and I were out hacking last year and got chased by two loose dogs, they bit him badly on his hind legs and caused him to bolt, unfortunatly we were close to a main 60mph road and he bolted straight on to it and tried to turn left towards home and came down on the road. We were only just missed by several cars and since then despite 1 year of re schooling and hacking out with older horses he has completely lost all his confidence and feels like a time bomb, he panics if we meet dogs on or off the lead and also pedestrians as he thinks they may have dogs with them.
On sun i met a dog on our way home on our own and i was quite impressed that he stopped dead and shook from head to foot but didnt bolt and allowed me to reasure him and eventually walked calmly by for the first time in a year he didnt spin and panic :)
How ever i jumped him today and he was very spooky and sharp, but i think the idea is they produce serotonine to make them feel happy instead of making them feel dopey.
Testing time for us will be sun as we are off to a comp and ever since last summer he panics in the box once the engine starts. so we will see if they help him over come his fear in the box
