I've never given it to a horse, but my guinea pigs loved watermelon skin, esp the part that had no pink. They are ideal sharers of watermelon. They only seem to want the bit that we don't.

Gave some to my mare, it was still there untouched the next day so gave it to a horse that liked it.

We had a grey in South Africa who liked it. He would break open a whole melon with his feet and then stick his face in it.

Grey horse, watermelon juice, dusty field - not the greatest combination!

Not tried a watermelon, but I offered them a yellow melon (forgot the name) and it was wolfed down.

My horses in South Africa used to pick peaches and guavas off the trees.

Ours love a honeydew melon, skin and all. Not tried a watermelon as I don’t like it so I never buy it. They also love nectarines (minus the stone) and kiwis and Monty goes mad for a tangerine.

Celery is adored by the mare but not the gelding, he’s a gannet for parsley ?

My boys both love watermelons, as well as melons, oranges, lemons, tangerines, different berries, plums and peaches (without the pit), but the ultimate treat is bananas! And, if anyone wonders, no - we don't live in a tropical country.
