Hi

Random request (and very hopeful!) but does anyone out there ride their horse in a treeless and have a photo (or even better, a video) of their horse being ridden before and after they got moved to treeless?

Im doing a final project at college on treeless saddles and their effect on stride length but am in depserate need of data to work with at the moment so anything would be much appreciated!

If you have anything at all, i would love to hear from you and we will see if IHDG can save the day (again!)

Many thanks,

Hannah

Hi there,

I ride my horse in a Barefoot Cherokee. Unfortunately I haven't got any ridden photos, but I have included 2 photos below in case they are any help - one saddled and one unsaddled, sorry they are at slightly different times.

My mare goes much better in her treeless, her stride is much longer and less 'stuffy'. Also, because she has a really 'big' movement, I found that a conventional saddle moved (fitted by a reputable saddler, made to measure and an albion and ideal)) and rubbed her back raw in places. She also has a 'hot spot' on her pelvis, and in a conventional saddle is lame on one diagonal, but not in the treeless.

Hope that helps a little..

I have the Barefoot Cheyenne and have noticed that my horse strides out a lot better when going downhill now but it hasn't made any difference to the napping and his lazy attitude with work after the first 5 minutes being ridden.
I have decided to sell the saddle as it is too big for me and I tend to slide around in it rather a lot but I must say it's the only saddle that I've found not to slip on my wide barrel-shaped cob.

Would be worth asking Jaylen about this as I know she rides her horse in a treeless now, or at least I think she still does, last time I saw her she was trying treed saddles!

But, worth trying anyhow! I know her girl is a rather large horse too!

I had major problems with a horse not engaging and even not tracking up due to very subtle to find saddle problems, completely resolved with a treeless. I have various videos and diary of problems, PM me if you want the full (long) story!

We have a very wide cob who was not terribly happy in even a well fitted treed saddle. We got a Torsion and have never looked back. Sorry, I don't think we have any photos.
