Further to a reply i read in Breeding about a summer foal being pestered by flies, i am wondering if there are people who use the electric fly zappers in their stables?
If so, what type do you have and are they worth it? do they make much difference?

Thanks :)

I do! It is about 2' square and i put it up in the rafters. As poster above says, it does make you jump when it zaps a fly, I put it on during the day when my horses are out, and turn it off when I bring them in. I'm not sure if it is my imagination, but i think it lessens the fly population!

I was thinking of getting a couple of these, one for my kitchen & one for the yard, we are pestered by hundreds of flies in the summer :(

Are they all as good as each other? can anyone recommend a certain make of fly zapper?

One of my house sitting customers has one and yes its a good idea and works-but when a fly gets zapped on it, it sends one of her horses mental and it has never got used to it, so its redundant now.

Same here. My stallion literally climbs the walls.
Mine is covered in dust, I can't use it for the dog room either as they'd pee themselves everytime it frazzled a fly.
