I use gloves and they fit but my little tinker over reaches and rips them off, the over reach boots work to a degree but not fully. Does anyone use glue on's and if so how long do you leave them on because i wouldn't want to leave them on for a long period as I want her hooves to breath?

We've started to do endurance so need a good fitting boots :-)

We do:

During the season we leave them on for 3.5 weeks, then take them off for half a week. It's not quite how the manufacturers recommend but it works for us and touch wood we haven't lost one yet. We use Vettec to stick them on with and the farrier does them. Not a cheap option but I guess works out the same as shoes with posh pads.

They've been a godsend for Spud - he has sensitive pink legs and can't tolerate neoprene for more than 16-20km.

EstherYoung - do you pack the frogs also. My mare has sensitive skin and hoping that'll this will work. Is is vettec you use? And do you re-use the shells?

We don't pack the frogs/sole but you could if you wanted to. We generally get two uses out of the shells, and as he's a size bigger on the back than the front we buy new for the fronts and then re-use on the back because they'll have stretched slightly by that point.

The other thing we do, because they're staying on for three weeks and they can pull forwards as the foot grows, is just trim the backs down sightly.

Not used the glue ons. I spoke to easyboot as my lad rips one of his gloves off when we go at speed. They recommended powers straps and wrapping athletic tape around the hoof
