Just wondering if anyone uses regumate, how is it used?

I know you have to get it on prescription from the vet, and I'm guessing it's administered orally...

Do you have to give it every day, or a number of days per month.

And if you can help me out - how much is a months worth!

I posted just this sunday about my mare on Regumate :)

I am seeing Vet tomorrow night to get a prescription which I then send to an online place (I use Pet Dispensary) and get the stuff within a day or so.

My mare started on 10ml a day - in night feed so that I know I am giving the right horse the stuff and is now on 8ml a day so a 1l bottle lasts me a few months so I am happy with the £106 online price. Not so happy about £180 per bottle.

I once forgot for a few days and mare immediately reverted back to tetchy, bucky, kicking out so I never leave a day out now. :)

I've just stated my mare on it.

Its liquid you put in their food.
My mare gets 8mls a day.
I have to use gloves so as not to get it on my skin!

You need a prescription.
My vets do very competitive prices so it would be worth me paying them for a prescription them buying it on line.

I've heard the pig version is cheaper. But Im not sure how you would get it.
My vets are just Equine, maybe a large animal vet would prescribe the pig version.

I don't know if you can get it in England or Europe yet but ask your vet for the injectable version - you give 3ml I/m once a week... Much easier! I know that ready serve do an injectable altrenogest just don't know if it's available in uk.
