Anyone used a blower/dryer with a horse?

Ive used a hairdryer on a warm setting before :) causes no issues and does dry them out anymore than it would your scalp. Common sense!

We'll have none of that nasty common sense stuff around here. What would the world come to if we all used it? ;)

Shall investigate shammys and thermatex wraps.

haha :) Just saying ;) Nah they work well I have used them in the winter getting ready for shows in the past. Horses can take some getting used to the noise but otherwise doesnt cause an issue!

I shouldn't think it's much scarier than using the hose in her feet, and not as noisy as clippers.

For now I've ordered some thermatex bandages to put on them - she never fits boots/wraps properly and the bandages are half the price. It will also get her used to being bandaged, which is important for young horses.

Be carefully with those bandages they are very difficult to stop tightening to much I chucked mine after my advanced eventer ended up with swollen legs after using them, they sort of go narrow when you apply them so I decided if was not worth the risk and the grooms where scared of it happening again so I binned them.
Another friend had the same thing happen and stupidly I did not chuck them then.
