Anyone used a chiropractor for yourself (the rider)?

Ah, that's good to hear as i've booked an appointment for friday! Been riding very one-sided lately and it's causing canter probs...hopefully it will do the job

I see a physio. She explained the different as: Chiropractors and Osteopaths and soon going to amalgmate as a professional group. They believe that your skeleton needs to be correctly aligned in order for you to be in good physical health and they will manipulate you regularly in order to keep your skeleton in good order. They tend to encourage you to visit them regularly forever in order to achieve this.

A Physio will help you to keep physically well by giving you exercises to do and offer manipulation, until you are fixed.

In fact nowadays any good physio will manipulate you (mine does) and also give you exercises to help with any physical problems you have. The same goes for good osteo's and chiro's.

Whichever you choose, ask them if they are experienced with horse riders because it will help you get good treatment. My physio is great, I visit her whenever I have a problem.

my chiro does me and the horse as we set eachother off

osteo is similar not the same as chiro they use different techniques and for some reason osteo has never suited me as well..... it helps but not as good.

A good chiro will, manipulate, massage and give strengthening exercises. (as will any good physio but have always struggled to find them tbh!) Sometimes you need to alter muscles that have been not working as they should for sometime...... this may have repercussions with other bits of your body as they adapt.

I also strongly recommend pilates which have helped me a lot.
