my need to feed my pony in a small holed net or he stuffs all his hay so quickly he is left without for too long but ideally I would not feed about the floor, I wondered about a haybar with a ring at the back to tie the net to so he couldnt get his feet caught in it. has anyone done this ? or found any other way that works.

I did it last Winter with both of mine, one was greedy and the other one took great pleasure in emptying his hay out every night and trampling it around his stable.

I set the tie ring quite low down in the hay bar and had bale-a-twin on it as normal, then I just tied the hay net to it in the usual way, it worked really well, I'll be doing the same this year once they start coming in :)

It works really well I started because J liked to unload all his haylage on to the floor and mix it with his bedding and as I am OCD about forage in the bedding it was costing a fortune in bedding and wasting haylage .

I do it as well - I made my own haybars but to be honest, mine just yank all the hay out then pee all over it so I have a ring above the haybar and just tie a big haylage net from it so at least its safe when empty. Works well.
