Anyone used Levamisole for immune system?

Hi everyone
My mare has been poorly with a virus and i have just spoken to the vet and he has recommended, the use of Levamisole to help boost her immune system, even though it is a wormer?

Has anyone had any experience of using it, its a liquid and would need to be administered for 10 days

Use it as a sheep wormer buy if by five lite packs, so see if you could get it from agricultural store,
 
one of my horses had an unknown virus last year last over 3 months , she would not eat more than 10 mins all day and not much hay at night. We tried many feeds, in the end alfa a oil and cubes were the only thing she ate, sadly its just time and vet visits that got her through
