Anyone used Saracen Relieve?

I used it some years ago for a horse that tied up .
The horse was a very sharp spooky type it did not affect his behaviour at all and he felt and looked very good on it.

That's good to hear. Mines been on it a week and was unusually spooky out yesterday but it was also very busy so could have been a combination! Might just half what he's having to take the edge off. It's not costing me anything and it's still more than he can have of anything else!

I would fiddle about with the amount of food and work and see how you go .
The vast majority of food related silliness is a simple question of energy in energy out so it's a bit of trial and error to get it right .

He's had about half a scoop morning and night, with nothing else but Haylage. Might just give him a 1/4 or less. He's not rodeoing at least which he does with other food (even Hifi!) he's just gone a bit frit feeling! He jumped well though

We have a poor doer Connie who was on it when competing a lot. Suggested as he goes bonkers on oats or barley and didn't get on with C&C either. Looked and felt really well on it, no increased spookiness.

just to be the spanner in the works:

it sent fig insane, spooky and erratic but this built up and gradually got worse over time it wasnt imediate but as soon as he came off the releve he was back to normal.

they also dropped a lot of topline on it.

i prefer the winergy equilibrium feeds.

Good to hear the other side. He was spot on competing at the weekend but hadnt been on it long. Ill cut it down and if he's still the same next weds I'll change back. I get it for free so seemed worth a shot as told its good for his type

yes I feed it, after spending hundreds of pounds on lots of different feeds over the years it's the only thing that helped me get all the concoction of powders down my horse! My horse loves it, I wouldn't change.

We've got two on it and both does them well! Louis was a bit more reactive when we changed on to it but not silly - again I think it can depend on amounts needed etc...he has kept his weight brilliantly on it though and his coat etc look fab :) very pleased as he was previously having condition cubes, sugar beet and blue chip and didn't look as good as he does now!
He doesn't build up much topline naturally so I don't think it would do that on its own but he's gradually getting better with the work

I tried both of mine on ReLeve, one a cob and one a TB but both keen forward going types. They both went very flat on it so I spoke to Saracen who were surprised as they have horses that race off it but suggested adding EquiJewel for a bit more oomph. I love EquiJewel for conditioning but it doesn't add oomph so I gave up with the ReLeve and now use Winergy Equilibrium.

I also think mine got a bit bored of it after a while as they became less interested in eating it.

We've recently started feeding Dodson and Horrell Equine Sensitive to my share horse in a bid to deal with his skin problem. It's worked and we're now 99% certain his problem is sugar. It's also supposed to be good for horses who can't cope with more sugary/starchy feeds so might be worth a try if the Relieve doesn't work.

It's no good assessing its impact on behaviour on M, he's so laid back even a diet of pure oats had no effect on him - he was 5 at the time! He wolfs it down though and it has a lovely minty smell.

I used this last winter with a horse that sounds just like yours. I found he chilled out but still had enough spark to work. He also looked great
