Hydrophane Leather Dressing ?

Did you just brush it on leather or soak in a bucket for a couple of hours ?

Wanted to get Neats Foot Oil, which normally I use in soak in bucket for 2 hours to soften leather but they did not have any

Will leave you alone now I promise !!!

Same sort of stuff as Hydraphane - but better IMO! Saddlers have always said Neatsfoot used too much can rot stitching!
Koachaline is brilliant too but a bit messier, it's a jelly you have to work it in with your hands - makes them very soft too!

uuugggghhhhhh !!!!! not sure I can do that !!!!!

might just submerge bridle in a bit of this leather dressing for a couple of hours, no one is jumping down my throat that I shouldn't !!!!!!

how lazy am I

I'd rather it were only an hour and you dried it off rather than let it drip dry; the actual 'working' of the leather will help it break down the newness! After that, don't use any oil for at least another week, just use the bridle and clean (if you can be bothered, it sounds as if you might not!) you will find just by using it, it will supple up a bit better each time.
Seriously, if you use too much for too long you will lose all the natural resilience and strength of the leather, it will have no body to it and will just stretch and weaken.

I love Hydophane leather products! If I need to soften leather I paint the leather dressing on fairly generously then pop everything in a plastic bag over night, it's always worked well. I wouldn't soak it in a bucket for any length of time because too much oil can make the leather weaken and stretch.

I personally don't rate it.

Carr Day & Martin Leather Conditioning Spray after you have cleaned your tack it is fantastic!!, really softens the leather, gives a nice glossy shine plus its not too greasy and doesnt make your leather too soft neither.

Tried it once, and never used anything else since.
