It looks like it's been dipped in chocolate, or in the process of some all-over-body mud beauty treatment - crazy!

Well I don't have a picture of seren from earlier but she was a state! I was worn out and almost did not have the energy to ride and to be honest I did not exactly win with my battle against the mud either...

ah i wish this was on here earlier, Quin was filthy when i went down this morning!! he was caked in mud, took me almost 2 hours to get him semi clean!

I knew I would need to lower my standards when I got Dublin my piebald in april, but when I saw him and his new rug this morning I could have cried!!!! He must have rolled in the muddy gateway, Hosed the rug down and its drying in a spare stable, he is staying in tonight!!!

I haven't got any pictures but my horse regularly comes in covered from head to toe (including the front of his face). He has even come in with earthworms stuck to his rug from grinding himself into the ground!

That hair is nearly 3 inches long in places, and it was mud most the way down, over his whole body, mane glued together....
We ended up hosing it off and changing his rugs once an hour!! o.o

It's the expressions that get me. Bosworth's horse has that slightly guilty look in pic two, and I love the Appy foal on the right staring in disbelief at Whirlwindhorses' little mudlark.

love this thread! dont hve any pics of mine muddy, but i can guarantee every day once he's fed and groomed and back in the field, he will locate the big mud patch and roll. after riding thurs, he rolled 4 times. got over and back two or three times each roll. the next morning was fun!

The only reason she isnt dirtier is that theres almost no mud in the field! She really, really tried, to the point where the neighbours thought she had colic as she was rolling so much

Dimples MAKES his own mud wallows - he picks a spot, jumps up and down. Runs 30ft or so to another spot, jumps up and down, runs back to the original place, jumps, rolls, jumps, runs, and repeats! o.o
He really is crazy

Well, "hippos" is Greek for horse (a hippopotamus is a "river horse"). I suppose that might explain it.
