My friend has asked me to help her find a horse for her and her son.

Here are her conditions:

13hh-14.2hh
Under 15 years old
Safe and sensible/confidence giver both on and off the lead rein
Fairly decent weight carrier (limit of 12stone if possible, though she is now dieting)
Under £1500 including transport

She already has two horses, but neither are suitable for her son to be riding, one of them she won't ride, and the other broncs during canter (she gets very overexcited, teeth, back everything has been checked multiple times). My friend had a nasty fall a few years ago and broke her back, she hasn't entirely regained her confidence in the saddle yet.

Could anyone help? I have a few ideas, but she wants me to keep looking.

Thanks in advance xx

I think you are expecting a lot for that budget, finding a quiet, up to weight pony to suit may mean some serious compromises, I think you may need to look for something over 15 to get everything on the wish list without having to pay more, it may be a buyers market but these types are hard to find at any price. I have a client looking with less restrictions and a better budget but she has only tried 2, one was just too small although she is tiny she wants a decent stride, the other too green and sharp. This may be worth a call, no good for me as the buyer wants a gelding.
