Please good people in this forum who like to look for horses - find me a safe nice hack that can have the ability to do a BE80 with time.

15.2/16.2
Mare or gelding
Must hack alone
No TBs personal preference, I would like something with more bone.
Would love a palomino, dun or something a bit eye catching!

Central and northern England preferably and within 6500k

I am either far too picky or tight for these covid increased prices!?

Thanks in advance

I think you may have to increase your budget for something ready to BE80 at those specs. Especially if it's a pretty colour.

came to say a pretty colour comes at a premium.
I know doesn’t meet your criteria (annoying) but would you consider a highland pony? Easily do BE80, plenty of bone and comes in the nice colours. You could snag an over height one within your budget.

edited to add you might need to bring on to BE. a proven record will be more!

I’m on a few palomino Facebook groups because of Mim. The closest I can find is this one:

It is young and more expensive than you’d hoped but I think you might need to reconsider your budget.

I think it is by Kambarbay so it should be quite sporty.

Um did you really need to post that? I am most definitely 100% absolutely not looking for another horse…… but he really is quite lovely and reminds me so much of the palomino called Peach I had as a teenager. Sitting on my hands right now ?

Good look finding someone selling an overheight adult highland. They are like hens teeth. They just dont tend to get sold as adults. You would want the sportier type to do BE on as well which further complicates matters

I know - teenage LG is cursing me right now. I’d be very tempted if I had the time and facilities to produce anything beyond a happy hacker.

Thats a minimum of 10k, probably 12k

Yes, low five figures. But I don’t think there will be much out there for less, in that height bracket and wanting to do some eventing.

If you can wait eight weeks I think the market will drop massively once it's
September

Thanks I will be happy to sit and wait. I am most certainly too tight for covid prices.

The last horse I bought was a 5yo cost £1000 was by jaguar mail and went on to novice event.

Everyone said that last year, and it didn't happen.

OP, I am looking for similar, would go a bit older, not bothered about colour, with double the budget. They are out there, have found two who fitted the bill but simply didn't appeal, but mainly, even at double the budget, the good ones have gone within a day or two. It is a scramble.

Could you let me know the name? I bought something different in the end as I coudnt find anything for sale that was over 4 and over 14hands, and that was including going through the lady who does the matchmaking, being happy to buy unseen from the highlands etc. I'd love to be able to recommend somewhere when people ask me

This year there's a definite end to furlough, push for people to be back in the office etc - it's more likely to happen now.
