Our puppy is a week old tomorrow and the breeder has very kindly sent me a couple of pics to keep me going until next week. I have somehow managed to still keep it a secret from hubby :D We get to meet her next Saturday, I can't wait!! She will colour out to be a light blue roan apparently!! She looks spotty at the moment like my 'orse!!!

Goodness knows how I'm going to sleep now!!!

I know :O) She is super scrummy. I couldn't sleep last night!!

We've got to think of some names but thats a bit difficult when hubby doesn't know about her yet!! We can choose a name next weekend, last night laying in bed I like Pebbles, think thats rather cute :)

She is a cutie! And she will colour out to blue roan from that? Wow, she just looks b&w, lovely though :)

Apparentley yes she will. She has a Blue Roan Mummy and Daddy so fingers crossed.Any pics of blue roan pups I've seen/googled have always looked like they are black and white! Time will tell!!

Just found this......

All parti-coloured blue "roan" puppies are born black and white (like Friesian cows), over a period of weeks as the coat grows the individual white & coloured hairs mix to form the roan pattern. Roan puppies have coloured pads, often fully pigmented, other times there is a 'halo' of colour around the outside of each pad. As the pup matures, the 'halo' of pigment creeps inwards & fills the pad. True black & white pups have pink pads with the odd speckle of pigment dotted about, they also have pink muzzles.

Our little girl has a black nose and pads so sounds like she will colour out :D

She is gooooorgeous! She will get much much more flecked, even once she's all grown up her coat will vary from season to season.
Otto looked like this as a little pup...

Now he's very speckly!

I am so impressed that you are keeping it to yourself, I would have popped already! Your husband will start to get suspicious as to why you are in such a good mood! LOL :D

But I'm always in a good mood :D I am really struggling to keep it to myself to be honest, but, I just keep thinking of his face next week when I tell him and that keeps it zipped :D Otto is just scrummy, he really is speckled isn't he.

The poor thing thinks I am dragging him out next Saturday with my Mum to look round graveyards for our family tree!!! I think he only agreed to come as I said we'd go out to lunch inbetween churches LOL I'm not going to tell him until we get outside the breeders house :D:D so excited :D:D

So cute! :D

I have a light blue roan and a liver roan.

This was them as proper babies:

And this is them months later:

They looked so similar when they were tiny, but Elvis is now such a dark liver roan. I don't think you can ever tell what colour they'll be. Good luck!

Two sleeps! Yippee! Lucky you!

Mine are now 18 months old. And still loads of trouble

They're going to meet my new horse on Saturday so fingers crossed that goes well!
