im 17 this month, and want to buy a car.

Has to be about 1.2L smallish car, well priced and not too many modifications etc for insurance.

Soo if anyone wants to help me shop for a car???

xx

trade it is the best. i can tell you that a ford ka or peugeot 106 is cheap on insurance for your first year and the majority of the time tescos is the cheapest insurance, i had a ka and tesco insured me fully comp for £800 and didnt put the premium up when i passed my test which most insurers do.

Ooh, I lurve car shopping! Try exchange and mart as sell for car dealerships and private sellers. Deoends if you want new or used I guess but the fiat 500, suzuki swift and the lies of ford fiesta / ford Ka (new design the old ones AWFUL!!). Other than that if you want little 4x4 then kaybe try the Fiat Panda to handle the bashing down farm tracks etc!

My advice woukd be DO you research! Know exactly what you want and want you don't want and exactly what your budget is. If you're buying right out in cash then makes sure you are paying the right price - check Parkers for used and new car prices - if you're getting on finance then know what you can afford each month and do not budge on it!

I found if you know what you want and what you're going to pay then you can go to a dealership and get what you want. Also, if you go to a dealership and you don't like them or their attitude then leave. I went to many when i wanted my first car as i knew what i wanted and wasn't going to be swayed otherwise.

If you have a bigger budget then i think VW do a 'green' Polo that is tax excempt so you're getting a good car without forking out the tax. Do your checks before, that is the trick!
