I am fed up getting soaked through, and wondered if it would work washing a couple of pairs of my old jeans in one of those reproofers you can use in the washing machine?

Okay, they may end up smelling a bit rough but no worse than their normal horse wee smell after mucking out I'm thinking.

Anyone any experience of doing this? If so, did it work and what did you use? And can you wash the jeans afterwards without loosing the water repellency???

Would it not be a lot easier to buy a pair of waterproof overtrousers? Tesco sell them in three sizes in a re-usable drawstring bag that packs really small for about £8.

Yes, guess it would be. I've several pairs of waterproof over-trousers kicking about, but find them really annoying to wear over my trousers. They crinkle and make me too hot. *And make me look really really fat*
