Anyone weighed their mini?

I've got a two year old mini Shetland with good bone and a stocky little body. She's not at all fat, but she looks it, she's got such a sprung ribcage :). 26 inches tall. Has anyone actually weighed their mini? I don't want to get the wormer wrong, what weight would you worm her for?
 
Take the measurement around her girth and then from the point of the chest to the bum and then do this equation which is specifically formulated for miniature horses:


(3.7 x girth in cm) + (2 x length in cm) - 348.5

This will give you a weight in kg. They weigh a lot less than you imagine.
 
I'll see if I can persuade mine to pop on the bathroom scales later!
Joking apart, I'd be quite interested to see how much mine weighs. I think he's a very good weight when I get my hands on him, but he looks huge because he's very fluffy, and has a low slung midriff!

Thank you. I'll let you know once I've had the tape measure on her :) I'm guessing at 100 kilos.
 
Take your bathroom scales down to the field, step on and then reset. Pick up mini and step back on. Take your weight away from combined and presto.

Would love to see pic of this! :p
 
I have a miniature Shetland...32ins...quite fine build...weighed 106 kgs at the vets as a 4 yr old. I always give him 150 of wormer

I have a 34 inch relatively fine miniature Shetland who on a weighbridge weighed 120kg this was at his fittest, I was suprised how 'light' he actually was! I haven't weighed my youngster although I imagine he would be a similar weight despite being smaller he is much more stocky :)

HP she's going to be like your black one when she is full grown - solid with a small head. Her mum was 29 and dad 31. I'm hoping for no more than 29, I like her tiny :)
 
A mini will be no more than 150kg in most cases. My 30" was around 118 i think and my 34" was 149 but she was actually overweight, so i tried to get it down a bit. I give 150kg worth of wormer to them all though, so two wormers do my whole herd with some left over i usually give to a friend with a mini.
 
I weight taped mine and got approx 108. He was at the vet school ten days at er and was 116 on the weight bridge. So I'm pretty happy to use the tape and go with that. I wouldn't work at a higher dose tbh...

Not with the likes of equest or anything with praziquental or moxidectin due to the reactions that can occur from overdose, but ivermectin and benznidazole should in theory be okay. Better a little over than a little under is what i was always told.
 
Not recently but when mine went in to be gelded the were weighed on the bridge. They were 18 months at the time, the smaller finer one (approx 30" then) came in at just shy of 120kg and the other who is slightly chunkier (approx 34" then) was just over 140kg.
 
Mine are between 32 and 35 inches but with the equation above they are all under 100kg. They are not thin in fact one is a little on the chubby side.
 
I think on the whole I will just worm her for 100 kilos. At 26 inches, judging by other people's weights, I think she will be under that, but not by so much that it will harm her.
