I found the megazorb mega absorbent and used it on rubber floors, it was only the cost which eventually forced me to move over onto rape straw.

Have not tried the liverpool pelletts, did try aquasorb (?) wood pelletts and absolutely hated them!

megazorb for me, my horse is on 24/7 box rest for 7 months, it's the only thing that keeps him dry (lol sounds like a pampers ad!!) He is a very wet horse. I also find that if I mix it with other cheaper beddings it still works a treat and a bit cheaper. Don't like the wood pellets, bed always looks dirty and only really work with a small bed on rubber - my opinion only though.

I have used both on Stinky - megazorb was not on mats, but LWP are. I have been very pleased with the LWP - very absorbant, poo comes out with no bedding attached and very quick and easy to muck out and maintain. I took the wet out for the first time after 10 days with him.

I presently use megazorb on Farra and take the wet out every 5 - 7 days. As soon as I have used up what I had left from last winter, she too will go onto LWP. That will be the real test as she is far more piddly and generally dirty when compared to Stinky.

Having had both, if I had a choice, I think I may well go with the LWP as less bedding sticks to the poo and it is easier to get out the little bits and it is also far cheaper - LWP works out about half the price of megazorb.

One thing, I will always prefer both products over shavings.

ive used both together for a wet mare.
makes a very solid bed when semi deep littered last year.i put the megazorb underneath.
now ive only got one in at night this winter i will be doing full muck outs each day so am on lwp only.

thanks all, i only have the 1 horse who is wetness personified, its quite a talent, all the others are fine on lwp but this one it just cant cope with his massive pees lol

I have just moved from megazorbe to LWP.

Loved the megazorbe used it for about 7 years and if it wasn't for the cost (i have four in during winter) I would still use it.

Wood pellets take a bit of getting used to - I was making a bit of a mess and did post on here for help. Now sorted but I did change from brites to LWP.

Iused both on rubber mats - I found you need to put more down to start off with with pellets then just add each day as you would with megazorbe.

I also "make up" the bedding every day - ie i soak it and put it in "activated"(2/3rds sawdust 1/3rd semi activated pellets) if that makes sense for me the putting in dry pellets just did not work

Still use megazorbe in the wagon

i use megazorb as a base then straw on top, used to use megazorb on own but with a big horse was using too many, it works well with straw on top. i skip out during the week and just dig out really wet bits at weekend and fill in.

I tried merlin on megazorb but I found it was horrid to muck out fully at end of week...and he always went through to the floor - wasnt on matting and it stank all the time which wasnt good for his COPD. At 1st I put in 12 bags in a 12 x 12 stable with no banks so it was nice and deep but he went through so I swapped back to shavings in the end....I am tempted to use it on mins as when i filled a gap at my SIL's work they all use LWP and I'd never really seen it before that it was great to muck out took literally 2 mins each stable and they were all on matting with big beds too...and banks but just looked dirty....my mare is quite clean atm in her new house and is on shavings with matting.

How much are LWP? and how do you use them? I've heard nothing but good things about them so would it be cheaper than shavings I am using about 1 bale a week at £7 each, she has a nice bed not too bit but has big banks as she likes to roll alot...

Sorry for the invasion to this thread but am pondering changing her...if anyone could shed some light??

thanks again lwp are cracking for averagely dirty horses but i wouldnt recommend for very wet, dust isnt a problem at all for us,hardly any as the wee keeps most heavy

for those who have moved, if money were no object would you stay on mega?
