I used to lurk about this forum for ages before I picked up the courage to post anything. It became my first port of call if I was looking for help with my riding problems and found it very helpful seeing that I was not alone.
I'm currently injured and bored so please come and say hello and post a comment.. Come on..you know you want to.:)

I stumbled across this place after discovering it was the one website that WASN'T blocked by my work's internet filters! I've learnt a ridiculous amount about stuff that I have never/may never come across, and picked up some great tips along the way :)

P.s. hope you get better soon!

Hope you are well soon, use the time to study for a psychology degree, you will surely get a pass with honours if you spend long reading some posts on here (probably mine included)..

Re:

and it can be scary in here at times..

From what I've seen (I've only been here a couple of weeks), this ^^^ isn't kidding. I've stayed out of what I don't know/undersstand/HH politics etc. but sometimes a fair old 'ding dong' seems to ensue on certain 'pet' issues. It might even be worth them posting a few more 'stickies' not to discuss X, Y and Z! LOL I think some of this bunch could give the 'mumsnetters' a run for their money ;) {I am only joking folks!!}

There are key words or subjects which usually seem to guarantee disagreement :)

Mumsnet...is that worth looking at ..casting mind back to baby raising days before Internet took off and all that competitive mummying. Um..might go look.

Hello.

Sorry, that's not much reading to entertain the injured. I hope you're healing quickly.

I don't think this place is scary. In 4 posts I've been mildly patronised once and found myself quite a fun sounding day out (but i am a very sad person who regards fence judging somewhere i've never been as a day out), and said hello.

But then i have read this 5 times before clicking submit. So maybe you can do your next psychology assignment on denial of fear of social judgement :o

I couldn't tell you, but I am a member of other forums and mumsnet seems to have a fearsome reputation! So much so that I won't even drop in too see and if a thread comes up on Google in relation to searching for something I avoid clicking on the link!

Hello :)

I have only posted a few times, but I do lurk quite a bit. I have been away from horses for around 10 years, but am going to start riding again next week when my kids start school. There seems to be alot of great information and advice on here.

yes, best to read and edit :) I often answer something than ask myself what my point of view could possibly add to the situation then delete. :)

Good for you. I started just over a year ago with no previous experience and it's been a huge learning curve. I'm loving it though. Be easy for you ..is it like riding a bike..not done that in ages either.

I had a go at riding my old bike a couple of days after getting back on my horse for the first time in years...I cycled down my lane to the road and back and when I got back in the house I took one look at my mother and said 'I think I had better steering on Star than I did with that bloomin' bike!'.
