I only have to go about 300 yards from the house (where it is kept for security reasons) to the yard but to do that legally I need to register it - as an agricultural tax exempt vehicle with a Q plate - and get insurance. I can't find anyone who does 3rd party insurance unless it is attached to other farm vehicles/buildings, the local brokers have tried and failed but suggested JCB Insurance. I'm waiting for them to get back to me but has anyone else done it - found 3rd party insurance for an ATV so as to take it down the road?

We used NFU for ours - before it was stolen!

Thanks. I asked NFU and they will only do it as an addition to another more valuable policy. JCB Insurance will, with a whole host of security items, and then only as a fully comp type policy - for just over £700 !!!!!

Oh right; we had the farm and house with them at the time.

What about who you insure your house and buildings with, would they do it especially if it's kept under lock and key? Our premium back then, nearly 20 years ago was about £250 fully comp, well worth paying when we got nearly £3000 back which was better than a kick in the teeth even though it had been worth a fair bit more.
