Hi guys!!

Not new here but haven't posted in years, and since my last post i've moved countries AND got myself a new lusitano x arab pony. Woohoo!!!

Looking for some saddle help however. He's currently very happily ridden in a very very old wintec 100, which looks like the photo linked below. It's extremely lightweight and actually despite being less than attractive looking by itself, he happens to make it look alright.

Problem is, said saddle does not belong to me and sooner or later the previous owner will take it back so I am looking to replace it with the same model OR a very similar extremely lightweight saddle. Does anyone have any ideas, or one of these saddles laying about?

I'm living in Portugal so english saddles or saddlers are few and far between, so i'm hoping to ship one over from the UK instead!!

Grateful for any suggestions :) :) :)

They are pretty old saddles now. They do come up on ebay every now and again and usually sell for about £30, so if you keep an eye out you should find one.

The only other suggestion I have is a Ghost saddle. Mine is incredibly light and really well designed. It will be much better for your horses back than an old Wintec, but obviously more expensive. Mine was about £600 new.

Crikey - that's virtually an antique! Maxams are very light (or at least the old ones are) and are generally quite cheap secondhand. I sold a scruffy but sound Maxam to someone in Ireland for £15. I have a Wintec 500 doing nothing but collecting dust.

I have one of these lying around at my yard but didn't know what model it was! Unfortunately I'm in South Africa so that won't help you at all

are you interested in possibly parting ways with the wintec 500? we have a number of ponies using wintec saddles at the yard, not sure if any have that specific model or what gullets they have in but i can try them out on him to see if we might be able to get a good fit

Possibly. It's a brown Wintec 500 with flock and adjustable gullet. Not sure which is in it at the moment, but I might have a full set somewhere. Would you like me to work out a shipping quote? It's not going to be cheap to send, but I can give you an idea?

Forgot to say - I think it's 17", but I'll have to check. It's been hanging around for a while!
