I clipped by boy at end of Feb and then it grew back to almost a full winter coat due to the weather and he's still not even shedding so still got a thick coat and when it's really hot he's sweating just walking out for 20 minutes! Anyone else still got a fluffy one?

I clipped out the microcob last week she was so hot. Baby cob is hanging onto his and might be next up for a haircut - he's very patchy and doesn't seem to want to lose his beard!

My two warmbloods (they were fully clipped minus legs and saddle patch) have lost all their winter fluff and have their lovely glossy summer coats ☀️ the welsh A had an irish clip (last clipped in jan) and the un clipped part is still very fluffy. Im grooming every day and getting lots out but think we still have a couple more weeks till its all out.
I looked back at photos last year , she had the same clip, and it looks like it was mid june before she lost it all.

I think it’s largely breed related. The natives seem to hang on to it a lot longer

I've got two bays still hanging on to their last bit of coat. The chestnut is in full summer wardrobe - and standing shivering in the rain.

All mine are welsh Cs & Ds for reference.

My big one has a lovely short glossy coat but my haffie is still shedding. She started ages ago, stopped and is now losing a lot of hair. I must’ve been too mean with her rugs.

Mine has a clipped body and floofy legs and it's only just starting to come out in wads. Most of the horses on my yard still have a fair bit of fluff. The unclipped RDA herd have a lot of their fluff and are very itchy.

The Exmoor still has about 1/3 of her coat. Cob is almost there, but his summer coat is still too thick, so he'll be having another haircut in a couple of weeks (I clip him more often in summer than winter!).

My TB was blanket clipped in Jan. I have been grooming him EVERY day for the last 6 weeks, scrubbing away, I come away COVERED in his hair yet he looks NO DIFFERENT! Still incredibly hairy on his back and bum, legs are just starting to loose the floof.

The Arab's are almost in summer coat legs are still a bit hairy but I did have to clip Louis a few weeks back he was getting hot, I clip him all year round now as he has cushings and doesn't shed until late now.

Tb who was fully clipped is almost there, Tb yearlings x2 look moth eaten patchy and awful 🙈
Shetland was fully clipped and is still incredibly hairy and fluffy and looks the worst of the lot! No shows for him for a while yet.

I guess they are all different!! Unless my boy has a thick summer coat but I've seen photos of him in the summer and it's definitely not as thick as this! It's my first summer with him. He' snot even moulting and I'm not even getting covered in hair! He can be a cold horse and he's been left unrugged once it warmed up and then overnight as so mild and all others were out naked so maybe because he's got a bit chilly and hanging onto it I'm not sure.

I full clipped mine last week as it was too hot and he was still sheding the white bits of his coloured coat. He is so much happier for it.
I would clip mine but I've only had him since Feb and when I clipped him out he went very humpy/cold backed (turns out he was very sore and the saddle he had previously didnt fit and he's uber sensitive) but just paranoid that the clip didn't help our issues so reluctant to clip him out fully!

Chilli's still fluffy on the unclipped part of his blanket clip but the rest is lovely and glossy. He's been out with no rug for a month or so now as he kept destroying his l/w...(he also had a bit of a wither rub that needed to heal), he'd probably have shed it if rugged.

Pocholo is still fluffy but always grows more coat and hangs onto it for longer.

Mine are all still hanging onto it a bit despite regular de-hairing sessions.
Even my TB hasn't got proper summer coat yet. The ponies both have cushings but are now moulting fast. Ziggy has clip marks still, he's really hanging on.

The Orange Horror (28yr old 16hh purebred Crabbet Arabian) has shed all his winter woollies and is a glittering thing of beauty. His girlfriend, 32yr old purebred Crabbet Arabian, is just finishing her moult. Looking good, too.

The elderly welsh (29yo) looks like a complete tat bag with hair coming out in clumps.

He doesnt really see a brush though and does not appreciate a groom so I will leave him to look like Worzel Gummidge.

Almost there, but we started from something quite spectacular this winter. She looks like a fledgeling, the long stuff has come out but the clipped parts are hanging on.

My section A is patchy. My 2 warmbloods are in summer coats.

All mine are in various degrees of moth eaten shabbiness. The unclipped welsh D is the furthest along, mostly thinned out his coat although still a bit dull and fuzzy on his sides. Partially clipped foresters are still sportung a solid inch of fuzz on the unclipped bits. 2 of the fully clipped ones arent growing it back but don't look too dodgy, but the 3yo who got horrific rain scald and needed fully clipping has only grown a proper summer coat on the bits where her fur fell out, otherwise clipped areas look exactly the same as in january and she's got woolly head and trousers. Would love to take her showing but can't in this state 🤣

Similar to many on here, our IDxTB who was fully clipped except legs (last done January) has his full summer coat and has done for 3 weeks or so, but full TB who had a trace clip (last done December) is still hanging on to some fluff. Last week his clip lines were really obvious, but have faded a lot this week.
