Anyones horses still out at night?

mine still out one unclipped unrugged cob and one blanket clipped (soon to be hunter clip) rugged. They will stay out for as long as possible depending on ground and then will be in on harstanding/field shelter and arena when fields suffering.
 
out 24/7 hates being stabled(I liked the mucking out etc and fussing etc) BUT kicked door all night so out out out...becomes woolley mamouth, no rug, access to shelter that is unused all the time. Prefers driving rain and standing in middle of field..colder the better. Loves mud the more the merrier. In fact a complete hooligan. Was slow as a snail in warm weather but always livened up when was being ridden as soon as temperature dropped.

So yes he is out and about.
 
Yep mine is currently out without a rug on. I will be rugging him when it gets colder and he wont be stabled until its freezing conditions.

yes, sorry :o i get a bit carried away with the donkey nickname... so much so my unhorsey school friend actulaay thought he was a donkey :rolleyes:

we still have LOADS of grass and a field shelter, so its just the poo picking to carry on getting down to :D
 
Still out and still naked! Contemplating clipping and starting to rug in the next week or two and, provided ground doesn't get too wet, expect him to be out for a good few weeks yet.
 
mine is out still he is in a mw combo at night and in day unless its warmer and dry he will be in lw combo, he is clipped. He will be out hopefully until clocks go back but ideally until fireworks are done. its not too bad here yet, not any frost yet thats when i feel sorry for him!
 
Mine are out and will be all winter, unless it becomes a complete mudbath (and I don't mean just a bit muddy in the gateway!). They'll be out regardless of wind, rain and snow.

They're getting straw / haylage in the field as there's been no grass to speak of for a while (other fields are recovering a bit though) and will continue to get forage all winter (obviously).

Yearling's a hairy yak and will remain naked, 5 y/old's fully clipped so in a LW at the moment, 18 y/old is traced and still naked until it gets really cold.

Strictly speaking, since I have more horses than stables, any other plan would be logistically challenging ;) :D
 
Yep mine are all still out 24/7 with only the poor doer rugged. Usually mine come in at the end of Sept latest and would be rugged by now, but it is so warm down here at the moment with oodles of grass, thanks to my YO... that I have decided that they are better off our until either the weather changes or we run out of grass.
 
Yes and i intend to leave them out until its really to wet (to save my field not them!) today they have no rugs on either but thats just because i want as much winter coat through as possible before i clip so save redoing them too soon- or at all if i can help it!
They wear rugs if its chilly or wet but only think ones- their doing well and i'm saving a fortune!
 
Still out & hopefully will be until end of the month. Clipped & rugged with plenty of hay in field & 2-3 feeds a day.
