Anyones Horses Suffering from Dry/Cracked feet after the Summer?

Yeah my mare's are a little dry. I've been coating them in cornucrescine or effol (oooo I can smell it now, love that smell

). Though now summer is coming to an end *sob*

I'm swapping them for baby oil for the mud fever

one of mine are horrendous this summer. She's old, but never had a problem before. I'm using the kevin bacon hoof stuff. Its good cos it protects them from the wet and the dry. But hey ho they're still cracking a bit!

Yep, he's never had his feet this bad before, had to have farrier this saturday after only 3.5 weeks of new shoes all round, he blames weather, using that cornucrescine greasy stuff around coronet and moisterizer around the rest.

yes yes yes, both mine have been really bad this year. My farrier has told me not to waste my money of oils etc as it's all down to the weather. Hopefully the will settle down but both mine have horrid cracks and flaky walls.

Nope. Mine are all barefoot and dry feet are great barefoot. They only crack if they are left too long, so mine don't crack because I trim them every couple of weeks. I don't use oils or potions because it stops them being able to balance the moisture in them from the blood supply inside the foot if you coat the outside.
