I use easibed for the two horses i have now and am currently paying £6.50 (or there abouts) per bale. As everything is so expensive i just wondered if i had any cheaper options? Obviously straw is the cheapest, but this isn't really viable as my mare eats it!!

So, what does everyone else use? Whats cheaper on the market?

Any ideas?

We're having something of a shavings crisis in scotland so i have just switched onto natures best. £5.50 a bag but you really dont waste any so much cheaper to use, roughly a bag - a bag and a half a week depending on how wet they are. They have a website and found them very helpful.

Flax is what I use but the guy only charges £5 a bale. Can give you the details but not sure if they would deliver to you unless its a lorry load.

I get cross shredded paper from my husbands work for free, its like working with shavings and is actually more absorbant. I use thick rubber matting though so I dont have really thick beds.
