Apedale Christmas ride

Hiya just wondering if any fellow HHO's are going on the Christmas fun/endurance ride at Apedale, Chesterton this Sunday?
Would love to say hello if anyone is as I've decided to be brave this year and go on it. Was going to last year but had only had Doug a few months then and hadn't ridden him much or got to know his quirks either lol.
Just hoping the weather is going to nice or at least dry lol.

I take it you mean with the SE club, I havent been able to make my mind up as his lordship had his back done last Saturday, he rode prety well tonight, cant make my mind up regarding the travelling distance from Derby, last one I did was at Shipley, did you do that one ?
 
It's really local to me. Problem is, I hack pretty much all of the route (we're not far from Bateswood) whenever I want. Doesn't feel "special" for me to do that ride.

What's the weekend forecast? It was horrid doing it in the wind and rain last year.
 
Ok it's only a tenner so ive booked it, if he aint right I wont go, not much to lose, hope to see anyone from on here

Couldn't find the map on multimap with the postcode given, I think the post code should read ST5 7lB, that brings it up ok.
 
Aw thanks Pottamus yes I will as it was freezing out riding today my feet were like ice blocks lol.
I am very much looking forward to the ride though.
Patches yes I have ridden in Bateswood a few times now but at times it can be fairly busy with walkers and dogs ( I can’t complain too much though because I sometimes take my dogs down there but we tend to go round the pool instead of the track). As far as the weather goes it sounds as though it will be a nice day as I have just checked the forecast. According to what I have read it will be mostly sunny with temperature around 1C. So it will be a bit chilly but with the sun any overnight frost or ice should melt away and at least there is no rain yippee because I don’t know about anyone else but the rain has done my head in the last few weeks.
Pedantic no I didn’t do the Shipley one as this will be my first time. A lady on my yard does quite a few though as she has an arab and does a lot of endurance and dressage etc. I’m sure she went on last year’s at Apedale and I found out today from her oh that she will be on the one on Sunday too.
You won’t miss Doug if you come -and I hope you can as it is meant to be a good ride I have been told - because he will be sporting some antlers lol as the write up on it said you can dress up etc and I feel in the Christmas spirit so I thought oh bugger it lets go the hole hog ( I wont be donning a Santa suit though lol). Hope you can make it though and anyone else on the forum too because it would be nice to meet people in real life

Have you noticed how the borough council have put bridlepath markers along Bateswood on the side where all horse riders tend to canter the verge to the track?
