I have a 3yo TB who came to me a little while ago. I would of prefered a 4yo as I have a bit of a wait on my hands to really get her up and running. So am considering offering her fo sale shortly to see if anyone else would be interested in taking her on.

But..... dont have a clue what her market value would be??

She is a 16.1hh 3yo bright bay mare with a white blaze. She has straight limbs and correct flowing paces. She loose jumps well and shows masses of scope. She has been previously backed (when in training) but never raced and wasn't in training long as she was not deemed fast enough! She is well bred and is a stunning looking mare who I think has bags of potential. She is also a lovely person :-) and will live in or out, is vice free and a good doer.

So.......what do you reckon???

Gotta say, not very much at all. I'd be inclined to say 400-800. Sorry, it is ridiculous but that seems to be market value at the moment! You would get more next year if you kept her and did some non racing things with her...

yeah 3 is a bad age really! Think I may have to keep for a bit and put her into the BEF futurity see how she does. She has very good paces and a scopey jump so is quite a bit of horse. Be a travesty to sell for so little!

as she is a mare, and if she has a decent (non racing-wise) breeding behind her, you might be able to get a little more for her, but still, I don't think you will manage much more than 1200.

Just asked as if she had a very good pedigree (by chance!) you could sell her at the Dec sales. Darshaan is a very good broodmare sire but unfortunatly the mare hasn't done an awful lot. I'd keep her do a bit of work with her and then sell her. There's no reason why she can't go to a few shows now and either be worked in there to get used to the environment or a couple of in-hand classes. Alternatively with her being sound and correct now you should get £1000 for her. That's how much a lot of horses in training go for to get a new home.
