This is GREAT...more of this kind of thing needs to be more easily available to the 'layperson' to ensure that there really is an equestrian olympic legacy...Carl is so erudite, what a representative for equestrianism!! Damn I want a job on his yard, even watering the flower arrangements and watching would be an education, plus love the dogs totally getting in the way.
I also think its brilliant that you can hear that it is a physical effort for horse AND rider, I really hope that the TV coverage of Olympic equestrian sports might be also be able to show this, so many people I speak to think riding is a totally passive activity.
Anyhoo, although a lot of this Guardian site is a bit 2011 there are still some very interesting articles...check out Laura B...
