I wish to make the following statement regarding the posts I have put on this website.

I retract any comments made relating to the horse and carriage team at Arlington Court. The views I posted are not those of the National Trust and in no way reflect the organisations thoughts or opinions. Many of the comments I made were untrue and misleading. I apologise to the National Trust and the team at Arlington Court for my remarks.

I also made assumptions and accusations about other individuals and organisations which were wrong. In particular, I would like to apologise to Robert Sampson and family, breeders of Harbridge Fritz. He is pure Percheron, out of Harbridge Duchess by Willingham Axl. He is well mannered and has an easy temperament. I have been asked to write that the Trust were delighted with the training he had been given by Robert Sampson before they bought him which enabled Fritz to slip easily into the team and his performance to date has been exemplary.

I am very sorry. I am now deleting my account.

I love reading posts from driving peeps, and especially you and Rara.

I have to say that if I were seeking driving advice I would have considered you one of the most knowledgeable people on the site to turn to, and I am sure that your leaving will be a great loss to the forum.

However, I know that sh1t happens, and reading between the lines can understand that this isn't your decision, so take care and be happy. Very sorry to see you go.

I read the post and tbh it wasn't bad and you certainly weren't defammatory, well not intentionally, i'm sorry you have got into trouble over it and I am sorry if it was me that got you into trouble, I thought I was helping you find out more info on the horse by putting a link up to the breed society which gave you the name and address of the breeder, if I had known that that info had already been known I wouldn't have done so but when I read the post I thought thats what you were trying to do is find out more about him.

I still think the horse in question looks fab in his new pics, alot better than in his original pics, although just to make it clear (so there is no more trouble) he wasn't in anyway in a condition in the first pics that could be compared to say Jamie Gray's horses.

Don't leave, just keep your head down for abit an it will blow over

ETA Just wanted to say that the majority of hho wouldn't have even have read the thread because it was in Breeding which has is own little population

Hey! Don't go!

Apart from my personal like of you, your posts have actually opened my eyes to driving and to the National Trust and the work it does. It's made me, my family and friends whom I have regaled with your tales, far more interested in the work the Trust does and the role of heavy horses (who, until your posts, I was never particularly fond of). You might have made a mistake, which many of us haven't read, but please don't let that override all the good you have done and could continue to do.

I would suggest that 99.9% of Forum users take every post with a pinch of salt, and that they know that everyone has a particular slant/an off day/a personal opinion.

I think you are an excellent ambassador for your sport and I think you should stay.

Just my opinion hun.

I'm with Mrs M here! Didn't take the post in any way as being defamatory, I just felt difference of opinion which everyone is entitled to, so not really sure why you have to apologise and leave (please don't!) but I do understand why the post had to be deleted as it could have been seen to be, which in turn could affect business.

We're NT members and we're hoping to be going to Arlington Court this summer specifically to see the horses, which I don't think I'd have thought of doing if it wasn't for your posts.

Nooo don't go. I'll miss your posts, they've made me plan a visit to Arlington Court when I'm down in Devon in a couple of weeks.

I agree with every word said above, particularly with MrsMozart. Her comment

"I would suggest that 99.9% of Forum users take every post with a pinch of salt, and that they know that everyone has a particular slant/an off day/a personal opinion."

is completely true. I have read your posts with interest and enjoyment. There is no need to go. x

I agree. You have apologised publicly for your post. There is no need to leave. This is a public forum, and people are entitled to their own opinions. I haven't read the post, but I'm sure you are aware, and a member long enough, to make sure that your post was not deliberately defamatory.

Please don't leave though, HHO needs people from all sections of the horse world, and good sensible advice is hard to come by. You are a valued member and therefore have every right to remain on here and posting.

Ezme - no idea what this is about but I'm in agreement with what has been said by others. You are an excellent ambassador for your sport and I very much enjoy your posts.

If you are being made to leave I would ask those doing so to consider how much you have raised the profile of Arlington Court and the National Trust in such positive ways and that if one post was badly worded (I haven't read it so don't know) that it be considered in the light of the many hundreds of posts that weren't.

I know I've said my piece, but wanted to add that I agree whole heartedly with Three (and others). You have raised the profile of Arlington Court, the National Trust, and heavy horses. I appreciate that those in power could consider that your maybe inappropriate words would also reach a wide audience, but as stated previously, everyone has off-days and their own opinions and views that are not representative of their organizaton and readers of the Forum know this.

The very fact that you are leaving has put this into a new arena and highlighted the issue further - an issue that had it been left alone would have been forgotten quicly. I would be very happy to collate the positive that you have achieved and present it to the relevant people.

I have no idea what this is about as have not seen the post.
You have very bravely apologised in front of everyone and i think that is enough, no need to leave, hope you can stay

Hmmm, surely this establishment's reputation should be stronger than to feel threatened by one person's comments on a forum. Aren't we supposed to have freedom of speech in this country.

Ezme, don't leave just 'cause you can, if you're unlucky, get in trouble for saying anything about anything!

I haven't read the original post, I am sorry if it means you have to delete your account!! I have always enjoyed your posts and the pics of the horses you post are absolutely gorgeous.

Reading between the lines I suspect your job might be blowing this a bit out of all proportion but I appreciate that it's tough for you to make this point to them!

Sorry to hear you are going. I have missed whatever posts you are talking about, but know that you are usually a well mannered and polite poster who has really raised the profile of heavy horses, arlington court and the national trust.

If those who took offence to your posts are reading this, I hope you accept her apology and move on without further penalising her.

What a shame, as a newish member i can honestly say i have read your posts, some with amusement, and some I have learnt a great deal from.
People with such a vast amount of knowledge as yourself should be encouraged and having apologised it should all be laid to rest.
If you have been pushed then shame on those that have caused this, if you are jumping then SSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOPP

Am sorry but have missed what happened originally but from this post understand you have apologised publicly for comments made, which is commendable. Draw a line under it and move on, am sure everyone who is worth their salt will do exactly that. No need to leave, we enjoy your posts, enjoy your company and want you to stay. xxx
