Hi All,

I did post a couple of days ago but the title wouldnt really have grabbed Appaloosa owners so I've reposted, hope no-one minds.

I used to own an Appaloosa mare named Twilight Carousel (Twiggy), I seem to remember one of her parents (not sure which) could have been named Red Twilight?? She was bred by a lady near Cannock Chase and they held shows on their site but I was young so dont remember much else about the place.

She doesnt look Appaloosa, she was about 14.1 ish and was all bay, just used to get the occasional black spot on her neck and bum. I contacted the breeder when I first bought Twilight and she said she had been the smaller one of twins when she was born but somehow she survived and the bigger one died. She should have made 15.2 plus but ended up much smaller due to the twin thing, she was tiny, hence Twiggy.

I unfortunately lost touch with Twilight a long time ago after I had sold her to a girl near Sedgley but heard she went to some lovely people, she would be around 18 - 20 ish now if still alive (crosses fingers) and I would really love to know how she is and what she's been up to.

I often think about her but she has been on my mind alot lately.

I have just found out that there is a database but you have to be a member to see it. Please, please, please anyone who is a member could you have a look for me???

I looked on NED online, there is no Twilight Carousel recorded on there but there is a Red Twilight (Rivaz NorthlightxDusty) who is an App.

There are lots and lots of Twiggy's recorded but I wouldn't know which if any was yours!

Not any help really :( I hope someone else can help, my BApS membership has long expired.

I'll have a look at that then, at least i can find out if it was Dam or Sire! LOL!

I am desperately trying to remember anything more about the yard I went to see the breeder at - I just cant get her out of my head at the mo. :(

My mare did have a foal before I sold her - she is registered with the Spotted Horse Society under Kaz Prejudice apparently. I am just terrible at this stuff, short of google I just dont know where to start!!

Sorry should have said, Red Twilight is a mare! You're welcome, I am trying to get some inspiration of where else to look. I found a 'lost' horse for a friend once just from posting on forums, I put the ad on every forum I could find :)

BAPS have their own forum on their website but you have to be a member to post items. To be fair it is a good way to boost the membership and you would get a quarterly newsletter which would put you back 'in touch' with the appaloosa people, if you are interested.

You could contact their registrar via the website (not sure if you need to be a member to do that but worth a try). She seems a really nice registrar and very helpful. Hope that helps.

The Spotties.com site has a forum but I have not used it since they changed over to paying for ads on their site, it is not quite the same. There used to be people on there trying to trace their appaloosa's history and/or whereabouts. Good luck. :)

Thanks very much for that, I have just signed up with BApS and am awaiting my account approval so once I've got that I'll see what I can find on there!

So, I have contacted BApS and they say they dont think they can help becasue of Data Protection but slod that they dont seem to have an update since the horse was registered in 1994. I bought the horse in around 1997/98 and I am positive I registered the change of ownership but seem to think it was with an American branch??

I have also contacted ApHC and they are looking into it.

Could she have been registered with mutiple branches but I only changed one??

Any other ideas anyone?? I will obviously put up adverts in different places etc but if I can find out all details of her foal, breeders or Sire and Dam is there any other way I could go about this??
