My homebred filly came 2nd in the Sports Horse Two Year Old class at Royal Norfolk today. Her first big party! I'm well chuffed with her! She was a saint all day! SO easy to get ready on my own, despite the amount of white to make sparkle, an absolute star to travel and an angel in the ring! I can't thank my friend enough for showing her for me!

Thank you both! I'm shattered, wind/sun burnt, but grinning like the Cheshire Cat lol!

She's Goshka Ringo x Sportsnight x Atlantus. Her 4yo half brother (same dam) was a county winner in hand and was Champion BEF Eventing Yearling at his venue - he's gone to a competitive Eventing home.

I had forotten your 2yo was a 'patterned pony' S_N

She is terribly nice (those in hand bridles do nothing for her pretty head but I guess all the class have the same problem).

Why did you not show her yourself???

Sorry to hear your 4yo has been sold (to an HHO person - that would be nice???) Hope you get to stay in contact with his new owners.

LOL Fiona, I don't do in-hand - I'm better doing all the ground work and the prep on the day. Not a cat in hells chance of me not getting the horse AND me fit for the ring!

She was tired and really didn't want to pose with her first proper ribbon - she just wanted to go home, bless her. Thank you, I agree, she has a lovely head and in-hand bridles are not really the most attractive things we put on a horse! I borrowed this one, as mine looked awful on her.

H has gone to a super home! I'm sad that he's gone, but chuffed for him! I was never going to keep him.

Wow! She has matured, she looks so stunning!!! Well Done :D

Is she a keeper?

Thank you, no she isn't. She'll be advertised after she's backed next spring, unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse before then lol. Whilst she's a poppet to do, she's going to be too good for me to pootle about on - I'd like to see her out there doing exciting things.

WOW - well done! Shes very filled out for a 2yr old, looks very mature. Is she very big - she looks it! (or is her handler short?!)

She blossomed this last month! This is her in March

She hasn't been on much feed, though I upped it since the weekend, due to the hot weather and put her on electrolytes, so she had the energy to cope, as it's a long day out for a baby.

She's about 15.2hh (15.3hh if she sees something exciting lol).

She looks truly fantastic hon.
What a difference too in two months since I saw her.
I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and have a real soft spot for her, and dead chuffed for you guys.
Totally deserved!
Will you be doing any more with her? Cant believe she will be 3 next year, nearly time for backing ;) :D

Very nice!! Really well put together, you can see why should would hold her own in any class, and the markings make her all that bit more special! Well done!

Awww thanks hun! I think she took a shine to you too. I've not entered her in anything else and the Futurity is too expensive to take a 2yo, so probably not. I only do it for the experience anything else is an added bonus and this was a massive bonus, esp against solid coloured horses! The judge really liked her - he moved her up from being pulled in 3rd initially, to 2nd after he'd seen all the shows. He said something about it being nice to see a well mannered, well put together, free and good moving coloured :D Chuffed? Moi? Absolutely :D :D :D LOL at the ready for starting next spring, you offering? :p

She really is very smart, but you know I have a soft spot for "cow ponies" :p Another thing to win the lottery for!! Pleased to hear H has gone to a lovely home :)

She's lovely, what a cracking job you've done with her. A huge difference in your photos no wonder you're so proud.

FJ- if we add my pennies to your collection we might manage to buy a whole leg together!?

Thank you everyone for your lovely replies! Sorry I haven't replied to everyone individually! The difference in her is really down to Dr Green! She's only really been on a small amount of feed, though I think the D&H Build & Glow (2 mugs a day) helped. I don't think I'll take her out again, it was only for the experience and she saw scurry ponies (they all left the grand ring and filed out through her collecting ring), dray horses, SJers warming up over humongous fences (she liked watching them, I told her that would be her one day, but only to do it with a rider on board, no field hopping allowed lol), private driving, LOTS of Hafflingers, Shetlands (both VERY interesting apparently) and also a lorry that drove past and then reversed back past us, when we were loading her. She wasn't fazed one bit - but then she does live on a farm and likes to watch the big machinery fetching the harvest, whether it be corn or hay etc.
