An urgent appeal
EMW Musky
Musky is an adorable 12hh Welsh Section A gelding. On return, at vet inspection, it was discovered this pony had suffered trauma to his left eye and had, as a result, developed deep seated infection in both eyes, causing weeping and discomfort. This was treated immediately but unfortunately now the damaged eye has prolapsed and caused a huge oedema around the poll region, due to pressure on natural drainage channels.
To date the consensus is to treat with anti-biotics and pain relief until the condition stabilises.
The prognosis is most likely removal of the damaged eye. Although we are holding the balance of the fund raised for
Mannie, the little one-eyed Shetland who came in during mid-winter, he too may need to have his damaged eye removed as there is some concern for it's stability right now. We find ourselves in position of having to appeal once again for funds to help cover unexpected and financially devastating veterinary costs...
