Dear all,

This is a permanent sticky post in order to update HHO users about current editorial opportunities in Horse magazine. I’ll be adding all new requests to this thread, so please do check regularly if you would like you and your horse to appear in the magazine. However, it’s best if you get touch via email (victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com) rather than reply below.

And thanks to everyone who has already contacted us in the past few months – see if you can spot any forum users in our Horsey Partners feature (out now), and in our Fit to Ride and Gift Horses feature (out on 8 November).

At present, we would love to hear from you if:

* You’ve met a famous rider at a show and had your picture taken with them – we’ll print the best photos in a future issue. Alternatively, let us know if you have a story about meeting one of your equestrian heroes.

* We have a new series called News From Your Sport. If you’re involved with an affiliated equestrian sport and have any news or updates, please email karen_spinner@ipcmedia.com

* If you are planning to do your first Racehorse to Riding Horse class or your first dressage to music test in 2008, and would like some help with your preparation.

* You would like to have a lesson with a top rider. Currently, all Masterclass spaces have been filled for this year, but send your details and we’ll keep them on file for any lessons in your area next year. Just let us know:
Your name, age, where you live and your contact details
Your horse’s name, age, height, colour and breeding
Your riding experience/preferred discipline
Any schooling/jumping problems you have

* We got some great stories about equine characters for our Collecting Ring page in the December issue. If you’d like your horse to appear in our January issue, the theme is horses or ponies that have beaten the odds in some way. If you have a story for us, please drop me a line (victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com). If we print your story, you will win a great prize from Toggi too.

* We always love to hear your thoughts on the magazine – especially all the new features and columns we have introduced. Send your Letters to the Editor to karen_spinner@ipcmedia.com

Thanks again

All horses are gorgeous in their own way, of course, but is yours really the fairest of them all?

For the February issue of Horse (on sale 3 January), we're looking for the most beautiful horses in Britain for our Collecting Ring photo gallery. So if you think your horse or pony has the face of an angel and is so pretty you could practically weep, let us know. Email one photograph to victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com before the end of November, explaining what makes your horse stand out from the crowd. We'll print the top ten in our Feb issue, and if we deem your horse the most beautiful of them all, he could star on the cover of the magazine in one of the 2008 issues.

Thanks

* December's issue is on sale now, the January issue will be on sale on the 6 December *

Do you currently compete in working hunter classes, or would you like to give it a try?

To apply for our showing masterclass (venue TBC, date late February), send the usual details to victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com

Your name, age, where you live and your contact details
Your horse’s name, age, height, colour and breeding
Your riding experience/preferred discipline
Any schooling/jumping problems you have

If there's anything above in particular that you want to apply for, drop an email to myself or Karen – our email addresses are above. Otherwise, do keep checking this post, as well as the magazine, to find out what editorial opportunities there are.

Thanks

Victoria

The Facebook group is just called Horse magazine – it should come up early on in searches.

Just as an update, the stars for Project X: dressage to music and the Working Hunter Masterclass have now been picked. However, we'd still love to hear from you if you're planning to do your first racehorse to riding horse showing class in 2008, and would like access to some of the best training and experts to help you along your way.

Please do keep checking back here and on the Facebook group to find out what other editorial opportunities there are.

Thanks

Victoria

Calling all owners of beautiful horses – you have until the end of this week to get your pictures in for our February Collecting Ring page, which is celebrating the most stunning of equines. Send a high-res image, plus a sentence or two about why your horse should be picked and your name and address, to victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com

If we print your picture, you'll win a prize from Toggi, plus the horse we deem the prettiest will appear on one of our front covers in 2008.

* Next month – is your horse bombproof? Send your pictures and stories to victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com and you and your horse could star in our March issue.

I'm Scottish so I do understand! It mostly comes down to the fact that most top riders are based further south, and the masterclasses and competition prize lessons are nearly always held at the trainer's yard.

Thanks

Victoria

what about masterclasses/lessons for those of us without any horses

The chance to ride a schoolmaster for example?

Might be worth a ponder for the new year

There are plenty of top riders in Ireland, and you feature them in Horse magazine there is also strong following for your magazine over here, but there never seems to be an Irish rider winning any Masterclasses, or getting help in prep for a show, will there be any chance of this happening in the future

We'll certainly bear it in mind – I know there was a Northern Irish rider in a Masterclass not too long ago, but it would be great to do something with one of the top Irish riders in 2008.

Meanwhile, if you're going to Olympia and haven't read our January issue yet, head along to the H&H stand and you can pick up a copy for free. The February issue is on sale from the 3 January.

We're still looking for bombproof horses to star in our March issue – email me on victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com if your horse fits the bill.

Happy Christmas!

any articles coming up about people returning to riding after a gap (baby / career) etc???? Being one myself it seems to happen a lot and i never seem to see any articles - could be an interesting thing to follow peoples progress and why they decided to go back to it! Hope its not cheeky to suggest things!

I too would like to see more Masterclasses in areas such as Scotland.

It would be great for someone to visit my yard and help with the things that just dont seem to be clicking!!

The return to riding after a gap is a good idea

I think you should cover a story of breaking a youngster in, using my youngster and a real expert and follow his story as they show us a step by step guide to breaking him in and follow his progress from start to finish.Looking at the people who use this forum there are a lot of people with youngsters out there who are planning on breaking them in next year. But it would be nice if they took something like my youngster who is a real handful and show us all how to overcome the various stages of breaking from the ground work to having him ridden away. There are so many people who would like to do it themselves but are possibly not confident enough to do it themselves ! Just a suggestion i think it would be popular!

Just to reinforce the Scottish masterclass idea! I'm Scottish too, and a masterclass up here would be great. I've never seen a masterclass type lesson won by a Scottish rider in any magazine before, so that would be good

New applicants, just let me know:
* Your name, age, where you live and your contact details
* Your horse’s name, age, height, colour and breeding
* Your riding experience/preferred discipline
* Any schooling issues you have

Thanks
