I feed my horses a high fibre/low starch diet and was thinking I may just as well feed alfa and a balancer. However one of my girls doesn't like Alfa A - either original or the oil one, even if mixed with sugar beet. Does anyone know of nice tasty alfa that is still a forage rather than pellets added etc to make it more of a 'hard feed' ?

My mare has alfa an a tiny amount of nuts and takes ages to eat the alfa, although it does all go eventually. I find it helps if I damp it a bit, and also mix carrots in it - while she's trying to pick them out she does eat a bit of the alfa!

My old mare has Alfa A oil, high fibre nuts, speedibeet and carrots. If you just mix it all together she will spend forever picking out the nuts and carrots and leaving most of the rest

I started soaking the nuts in warm water so they go all squishy and then mixing them in. She can't physically pick them out then and has to eat the Alfa A as well. It works for her

Ah ok thanks everyone, I may try soaking some nuts and mixing with TopSpec alfa and see if that works. She simply refuses to eat Alfa A no matter what I mix it with, even pears!
