Both feeds sound very similar, for those who wish to do a google search.

Harvey currently has Orijen, but I notice the Applaws is on 3 for 2, so would work out alot cheaper whilst the offer is on.

I am tempted, but would it be naughty of me to swap to a different brand, even if they are brands which are almost identical in terms of ingredients/style of feeding?

I don't really know the answer to your question. I understand not wanting to pay more than necessary, on other hand sometimes even though they seem similar, they can be quite different in reality. As an example, I know of a breeder who never had any problems with his brood bitches giving birth, then he changed brand and next time a brood bitch was due, she needed to be taken to a vet clinic because she had lack of calcium and couldn't give birth. The new food, should have been just as good with the calcium as the old brand but the bitch couldn't assimilate it on the same way as she had been able with the old food.

I spent my first years of dog owning changing brands and when I finally found one that I'm really happy with, I have basically stuck with it since and I simply don't look at what other foods would cost me in comparison. Maybe you could perhaps try and buy a small bag, feed it and see how things turn out.

Arrr, well I must have developed a slight amount of wisdom overnight as I ordered a bag of Orijen this morning, just in case the Applaws didn't suit him.

It only worked out to be about £1 a week cheaper, so didn't seem worth the risk really. If it's not on offer, it's actually a little dearer than Orijen.
