Apple Chaff - low in sugar?

Mollichaff AppleChaff states 'low sugar' on the back of the bag - is this true? seems to good to be true! looking into it as a barefoot diet with speedibeet.

Possibly low in sugar but not without sugar. I certainly wouldn't feed it to my barefoot horse. There is sugar from the Apples and I don't like the fact that there is added molasses either.

What about pegasus chaff?

I am swapping sugar beet shreds to speedibeet (which is £4.50 per bag more!!) What is a budget barefoot diet?

no it's not, I avoid mollichaff like the plauge because of the sugars!

Mollichaff Calmer seems to be lowest sugar and my horse loves the taste, it's got herbs in. It's been fine for my good doer.
Applechaff is so sticky you can feel the molasses in it. Taste it yourself, it's very sweet!

most chaffs have sugars in them unless stated unmollassed etc. when i looked in to what i was feeding my horses, mollichaff, sugar beet, i was shocked at how much mollasses was in them...far too much. iv switched to unmollassed feeds and her back end is better for it!!

Equibeet do unmollassed beet pellets at the same price as the molassed ones. c£6.50 a bag.

I am getting Baileys Light Chaff for £5
Its no where near the use by date too

I'm using Top Chop Lite - completely unmollased and really nice. Same feed value as good hay

You don't need chaff. I just use speedibeet as a carrier for my suppliments and linseed.

I use the dengie hifi molasses free, low in sugar and starch so just adds a bit of a chew to the feed ? has made my welsh a lot more relaxed
