apple tv, anyone know about it?

We have sky with movies on a monthly subscription. What is apple tv like? Is it worth getting it for my gadgety hubby for xmas??
Do you have to pay for a monthly sub for apple tv?

We have apple tv, or should I say oh brought it for himself. Its a bit gimmicy for me, and I cant really see the point, but might well be a good pressy for someone who like that stuff. No subscription. You can watch you tube and stuff on it, and play stuff from your itunes.

If its an apple tv 2 get it jail broken, you can watch anything then but if it's a version 3 they are pretty useless as you can only watch Netflix which is py monthly and has old movies and tv series only.

We have one of these. Bit gimmicky for me and only the kids seem to know how to work it but it does have its uses, I'm just not very good at getting it going but you can watch a lot of things on it. Our american friend who bought it for us, is nuts about them
