I personally am disgusted by what I read in the paper today (pictures included) but it really doesnt suprise me that it happened.

Sorry just had to get it off my chest. I realise there are some good travellers out there that love and respect their horses but as for the others.........well I think I should stop there!

Like I said in the other thread.. new tradition... "young so called hard lads" must first be dunked under water themselves for 5 minutes so they can experience the anxiety, stress, pain, then and only then can they "bath" their horse!! IF THEY SURVIVE!!!

Oh god, yes, just found it in the Daily Mail

That poor pony. The pictures show it had a rope twitch around it's nose and the rider was also twitching it's ear. Bar Steward, I hope the police catch up with him they should be able to identify him from the photos, the sick Bar Steward is smiling in them too. Apologies for the language, but this story has sickened me.

Yes it's the rope around it's nose that meant it couldn't breathe anyway never mind being dunked in water twice. Disgusting.

omg ive just looked at the pics on the mail website,i cant believe it,made me cry and what a lovely coloured georgous horse,it should be stopped !!!

I have been to Appleby once - never again. It's the only place I have ever seen a yearling being ridden by 2 'travelling' children. Disgusting place, am not surprised this has happened. The majority of those idiots need to go for a 'swim' in the river.
