I know several people on Aquamax and they love it, says its so absorbant and saves loads of time on their mucking out. The only thing is that it can smell after a while, usually a hint that the wet needs to come out, but bar that everyone that I know that uses Aquamax loves it
i found it became very dusty in the summer no matter how much if was dampened and was not very good for the really wet ones. However it was very good at drying feathers out!
I used it and it was fantastic really quick to muck out, then my horse became very wet and it was awful, I was having to chuck out so much each day it became more expensive than shavings, so went onto shavings, but with the price of those now going up and up I may re think the Aquamax. OK if you don't mind not having a thick bed. Also my horse had an injury earlier this year and had to have a thick soft bed. If you have a fairly dry horse then it's brilliant.
I changed to Natures Best earlier this year (same thing as Aquamax but cheaper) and love it - quick and easy to muck out. My two mares can be v. wet and I just take the wet patches out regularly and get less odour from this product than shavings. Also the bed stays much drier. Not had a problem with dust - it just is a different product and you have to get used to it - and how to use it to its best effect with your horse
